To get the most out of your Studio J experience, it’s important that you read and understand the following finer points to make sure we’re all on the same page before we begin our dance journey together. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
You will receive an instant email confirming your purchase (please check your spam/junk folder). You’ll be added to the class group on WhatsApp 1-2 days prior to your course starting. This private group is our primary method of communication with students, and is used to provide class updates, resource videos, and answer any of your questions. Please ensure that you have this app installed, or you may miss important information and updates regarding your course.
Our #1 priority at Studio J is to teach Indian dance – properly. Which means standing by our teachers & classes 100%, no matter what. If you complete a full course without missing any classes, and find that you’re not satisfied for any reason, then we will issue a full refund. It’s that simple. We’re here for our dance family. Dance. Guaranteed.
Our Dance Guarantee is valid for all purchases & enrollments from 10 September 2020. We hope you love your course, but if you attend all the sessions and are not satisfied, then please be sure to inform us within 7 days of your course completion so that we can process your refund. If you inform us after this date, then a credit will be issued (6 month expiry period).
CANCELLATIONS & ABSENCES
ONLINE CLASSES: You can defer a course if more than 7 days notice is given prior to the course commencing. A credit will be issued (6 month expiry period). For cancellations after this time including drop-outs or missed classes for any reason (including change of mind, illness, pregnancy or pandemics) please note that there are no refunds or credits. For our Dance Guarantee, the full course must be completed and without absence.
IN-STUDIO COURSES: Numbers are very limited in our in-studio courses, and therefore no refunds or credits can be issued for cancelling your in-studio enrollment at any time, sorry 🙁 This includes change of mind, illness, pregnancy, pandemics, missed classes or drop-outs. However, if you complete the full course without missing any sessions, and are not satisfied for any reason, then a refund will be issued.
STUDIO CLOSURE DUE TO COVID-19
Should our studio be required to close due to covid-related lockdown, then the following will apply:
- For lockdown duration <2 weeks: Classes impacted may be cancelled or moved online. If cancelled, then make-up classes will be scheduled once in-studio resumes (no credit or refund).
- For lockdowns lasting 2-4 weeks: In-studio classes will be moved to online during this period (no credit or refund).
- For lockdowns longer than 4 weeks: In-studio students may choose to cancel their course and will be offered a credit for the classes remaining that term, valid for 12 months.
You must be over 18 years of age to participate in our IN-STUDIO courses. Children aged 13+ are able to participate in an ONLINE course if accompanied by a guardian (please complete enrolment in guardian/parent’s name).
In the rare event that your teacher is unable to take a class (e.g illness) then a guest teacher will be arranged or the class may be cancelled/rescheduled. For any classes cancelled by Studio J, a full refund will be given for the class/es affected.
Our online classes are delivered in real-time via either YouTube Live or Zoom. After enrolling, you will be added to a private WhatsApp group the day before your course starts. The online link will be shared 5-10 minutes prior to your class starting. You simply click the link to view and start participating. Online classes are recorded and made available for the duration of the course, so that you can catch up if you missed the session.
We may use images and/or videos from classes on our social media, website or promotional material. If you don’t feel comfortable with this, please let us and your teacher know at the start of the course and make sure you opt out of any photos or video filming during class. If you don’t tell us, we won’t know that you’re not ok with us using footage of you.
Not all exercises are suitable for everyone, and this or any other exercise program can result in injury. Certain special cautions may apply to individuals who are pregnant, injured, disabled, or have special issues regarding health and/or physical condition. You must be in suitable physical health to undertake these classes. You understand the risks inherent to dance and fully assume those risks and/or have sought medical advice prior to starting class. You hereby release Studio J Dance and its teachers from liability for injuries sustained while participating in any dance classes, rehearsals or workshops.
ONLINE DANCE PRECAUTIONS:
To reduce risk of injury, never force or strain during exercise. If you experience pain or discomfort during exercise, stop immediately and consult your doctor.
Ensure you have a safe area to dance in, with sufficient space, no slippery surfaces or tripping hazards.
We are not responsible for the health & safety of anyone participating in our online dance classes. If you engage in this online program, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in these activities, assume all risk of injury to yourself, and agree to release and discharge Studio J Dance from any and all claims or causes of action, known or unknown, arising out of our online dance activities.
The reproduction, sharing, distribution or downloading of any of our online content is not permitted unless authorised by Studio J Dance.
Safeguarding your privacy is important to us and our policy adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Providing personal information is an act of trust and we take it seriously. Unless you give us consent to do otherwise, we will only collect and use personal information as set out below.
The only personal information we collect is what you provide voluntarily. We may also collect and store correspondence for sales, accounting and service purposes.
Personal information will be used to fulfil the obligations of your purchase and to provide you with quality customer service. Note that we do not store credit card details as payments are processed via third party payment portals.
We may contact you using the information you have given us to provide information that may be of interest to you, new courses, special offers, and to send newsletters. You can let us know at any time if you do not wish to be provided with information from us, either by emailing email@example.com or unsubscribing from our newsletters.
